If you are a Dance, Drama, Performing Arts, Music Technology or Music Production student, Studio spaces can be booked for self-directed study. Bookings can be made directly through the available via MyΟγ½ΆΙη. A video guide will be made available to you via .
In term time, all bookings are limited to a maximum of 2 hours, and limited to 4 bookings per week across all available spaces - this is so that all students can have access to the spaces. Please note that if multiple bookings are made they may be cancelled. We encourage you to share the spaces wherever possible.
Booking rules
- All bookings commence on the hour
- Setting out and clearing up are completed within the booked period
- The room must be vacated promptly at the end of the booked period
- A minimum of 3 students should be present during bookings
- No food and drink is to be consumed in the room (except bottled water)
- No personal mains operated electrical appliances are to be used
- Proof of booking/booking confirmation must be taken with you to each booked session
Student responsibilities
The student who has made the room booking is responsible for ensuring that:
- Information: The booking information provided is correct
- Conduct:
- Other activities and users are not disturbed.
- Any props or rubbish is removed from the space at the end of each booked session.
- The room is returned to its standard format by the end of the booked period and is fit for use.
- If you need to bring external people into the booked spaces (for example, those who are not Ογ½ΆΙη students) you must have permission from the relevant module leader or Programme Leader. You will need to produce written/emailed evidence of such permission, on request, when in the space.
- Cancellation: Unwanted bookings must be cancelled promptly via the Resource Booking system.
To note: If a booked studio remains unoccupied after the first 15 minutes of the booking then the booking is deemed to be cancelled and the studio available to any authorised student wishing to use the space
- Health and Safety:
- As with all studio use, please adhere to safe working practices and, at all times, avoid activities or behaviour that may cause harm to yourself or to others
- Safe and appropriate clothing must be worn
- The use of naked flames, smoking, and pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited, as is the use of chemicals, and paints or liquids of a hazardous nature
- In the event of a fire alarm please vacate the studio by the nearest fire exit
Please be aware that all spaces are subject to periodic inspection by members of the University Security Team, University Wardens and Building Monitors.
Although every effort will be made beforehand, the Faculty and Timetable Office reserve the right to cancel a booking. You will receive email confirmation of any such cancellation.
